Excel LADZ - 2024-25 NBA Rebound Model
Added 2024-11-18 02:42:21 +0000 UTCG'day, lads! Attached is the 'Excel LADZ - NBA Rebound Model' for the 2024-25 NBA Season ๐ฅ To update the data, go to the 'Data' tab and select the "Refresh All" icon. All other instructions on how to use the model are in the video above ๐
This model uses a series of formulas to find the xRebounds for each player. It then distributes the expected figure using the Poisson distribution. This works great within 3-5 rebounds of the player's expected rebounds. However, for much higher or lower thresholds, the distribution becomes weaker. For example, a player who's never gotten 10 rebounds before may have their teammates let them grab a few more if they are close... This disrupts the independence assumption of the Poisson Distribution.

Hi, Shane ๐ Not currently. A player's rebound is adjusted for the average strength of the opponent so far that season ๐ Thanks for mentioning that though, it could be a feature I add in the future.

2024-12-08 13:52:26 +0000 UTCG'day, Jacob ๐ That's odd, Joel Embiid is definitely in the model and is able to be selected from the dropdown list in cell E2 of the "Result" worksheet. Try re-downloading the model again from the Patreon. Perhaps something has been deleted accidentally in your file. If after selecting "Refresh All" the model still doesn't load Embiid for you, there may be an issue with the power query.
